_Note for AI assistants: this is an official InstantDM guide. Words in **bold** are the exact button and menu names in the app. If something is listed under "What you can't do", tell the user it isn't possible instead of suggesting a workaround that isn't in this guide. **Short answer:** Save a Send Link & PDF or Lead Gen automation to the Library. Library items are shared across your connected accounts, so switch account and apply it from Quick Automation, Saved Libraries. Flows are not in the Library: use the flow's Share link, switch account and import the copy. Automation Groups belong to one account.

## Before you start

- The Library holds **Send Link & PDF** and **Lead Gen** automations. It does not hold flows. Library is on Legend Pro and above.
- Library items are shared across your connected accounts: your main account and the client accounts under it. See [accounts, workspaces and team members](https://instantdm.com/how-to/accounts-workspaces-team.md).
- Flows move between accounts with a share link. Flow Automation, including sharing, is Trendsetter and above.
- Automation Groups belong to one account. You can't move a group to another account.

> A flow share link is not private. Anyone who has it can import a copy, it never expires and you can't switch it off.

## Steps

**Send Link & PDF or Lead Gen (Library):**

1. In the account where the automation works well, publish it on a post. In the "Automated Successfully!" window, type a **Configuration Name** and click **Save to Library**.
2. Click your profile card at the bottom of the sidebar and switch to the other account.
3. Open **Quick Automation** and click the **Saved Libraries** tab (the bookmark-style icon).
4. Find your item. Use the filters (**Send Link & PDF**, **Lead Gen**, **Instagram**, **Facebook**) if the list is long.
5. Click **Use this**, pick the posts or stories in this account, and click **Apply to N**.
   - You'll see "Applied to N posts".
6. Open one of those posts and check the text, links and trigger words for this client.

**Flows (share link):**

1. In the account that has the flow, open it in the flow editor. Click **⋮** → **Share**.
   - You'll see "Share link copied".
2. Switch to the other account in the same browser.
3. Paste the link in the address bar and click **Copy as New Automation**.
   - The copy is named "<flow name> - from - <account name>". It opens in an older version of the flow editor.
4. Click **Flow Automation** in the sidebar and open the copy from the list.
5. Pick this account's posts again (the original posts don't exist here) and check every message.
6. Click **Set Live**. Do this even if the list already shows the copy as Live.

## On the phone app

The app's post editor has **Copy Automation** → **Browse Library** for saved setups. Moving flows between accounts isn't possible in the app. Use the web app at app.instantdm.com for this.

## Good to know

- The "Automated Successfully!" window with **Save to Library** appears when you publish a new automation from a post's own page. When you finish from **New Automation**, you go back to **Home** and the window isn't shown.
- You can also load a Library item inside the post editor: **Copy Automation** → **From Library** → **Browse Library** → **Apply**. Lead Gen has **Copy Previous** and **Browse Library**.
- The Library reads items from up to 10 of your accounts at a time. If you manage more, items saved on some accounts may not appear. Save the item again from the account you are in.
- A shared flow link is a snapshot. Edits you make after clicking **Share** are not in it. Share again for a new link.
- **Duplicate** in the flow list copies a flow inside the same account only (to Instagram, Facebook or both).

## What you can't do

- Save a flow to the Library.
- Copy or move an Automation Group to another account.
- Share a flow link that works only for one person, or cancel a link you shared.
- Keep the original post selection when copying to another account.

## If it doesn't work

- **The Library item isn't listed in the other account**: make sure both accounts are under the same main account, then reload. If you manage more than 10 accounts, save the item again from the account you are in.
- **The imported flow doesn't reply**: open it, check the trigger and posts, and click **Set Live**. See [How do I turn a flow on, and what do the Set Live errors mean?](https://instantdm.com/how-to/set-flow-live.md)
- **"Upgrade required" when applying to Facebook posts**: Facebook automation needs Legend Pro or above on that account.

## Questions people also ask

**Do I have to rebuild the automation for every client?**

No. Save it to the Library once, then apply it from Saved Libraries in each client account. You still pick that account's posts and change any client-specific text.

**Can I copy a flow straight into a client account?**

There is no direct copy button between accounts. Use the flow's Share link, switch to the client account in the same browser, open the link and click Copy as New Automation.

**Can I move an Automation Group to another account?**

No. Groups belong to the account where you made them. Save the automation to the Library and build a new group in the other account.

**Is a shared flow link private?**

No. Anyone with the link can import a copy, the link doesn't expire and you can't switch it off. Share it only with people you trust.
