# What works differently on Facebook?

**Short answer:** On Facebook you can automate Page post comments (with a Messenger DM) and Messenger keyword replies. Stories, Live, collabs, the follow-first option, ad comments, scheduling and post-shared-to-DM replies work on Instagram only, and a Flow runs on one platform at a time.

## Good to know

- **One platform per Flow.** In **New Automation**, the **Flow Automation** card is hidden when you pick Instagram and Facebook together: "Flow Automation runs on one platform. - **Pairing.** For **All posts** and **Next post**, you can tick both **Instagram** and **Facebook**. InstantDM creates one automation per platform.
- **Messenger needs one extra check.** Messenger replies work only when **Account Settings** → **Safety & Limits** → **Facebook DM automation** says **Active**. If not, click **Verify & activate**.
- **No @usernames.** Facebook doesn't share @usernames, so Facebook contacts don't have one.
- **Contacts are separate.** The **Contacts** page has an **Instagram** / **Facebook** switch. Exports are separate too.
- **Plans.** Facebook Page comment and Messenger keyword automations are on **Legend Pro and above**. Facebook flows are on **Trendsetter and above**.

- Connect a Facebook Page that isn't linked to your Instagram account.

**Do I need a separate plan for Facebook?**

No separate plan. Facebook Page automations are included on Legend Pro and above, and Facebook flows on Trendsetter and above.

**Can one automation run on Instagram and Facebook together?**

For All posts and Next post, tick both platforms and InstantDM creates one automation for each. A Flow always runs on one platform only.

**Can I manage Facebook from the phone app?**

Partly. The app can automate Facebook Page post comments. Connecting the Page and Messenger keyword replies need the web app.
