# How do I log in to InstantDM? Other guides: https://instantdm.com/how-to/llms.txt_ **Short answer:** Go to app.instantdm.com and click Continue With Instagram, or click Continue with Email and choose OTP Login (a 6-digit code sent to your email) or Password. If you signed up with Instagram, you have no password yet: use Instagram, use a code sent to the email you verified, or set one with Forgot password?. ## Before you start - **Accounts made with Instagram** have no password you know. Use Instagram to log in, or an email code sent to the email you verified during setup. - **Email codes** only work for the email saved on your account. If you skipped email verification, use **Continue With Instagram**. ## Steps 1. Go to app.instantdm.com/login. The page says "Welcome back 👋". 2. Choose how to log in: - **Continue With Instagram**: log in on Instagram's screen. You land straight in the InstantDM account linked to that Instagram. - **Continue with Email**: go to step 3. 3. Choose **OTP Login** (the default) or **Password**. 4. With **OTP Login**: type your email and click **Send OTP**. - Check your inbox for an email from hey@instantdm.com. Its subject is your code followed by "- InstantDM login OTP". 5. Type the 6-digit code and click **Verify & Login**. - With **Password** instead: type your email and password and click **Login**. 6. You land on **Home**. ## On the phone app - The app's login screen has **Continue with Google**, **Continue with Apple** (iPhone and iPad only) and **Login with Email** (**OTP Login** or **Password**). - If the email is new, the app shows "Instagram Account Required". Tap **Connect** and log in to Instagram to finish. - Forgot your password in the app: **Login with Email** → **Password** → **Forgot Password?**, then enter the code and a new password (at least 6 characters) and tap **Update Password**. ## Good to know - **Forgot password? on the web:** **Continue with Email** → **Password** → **Forgot password?**. A new tab opens. Enter your email, click **Get OTP**, then type the code and a new password and click **Update Password**. You are logged in automatically. - **Several logins in one browser:** in the account switcher (your profile card at the bottom of the left menu), click **Log in to another InstantDM account**. Use **Continue with Email** there, not Instagram. Logging in with Instagram from that screen can attach the Instagram account to the login you're already in. - **Team members** log in with **Continue with Email** → **OTP Login** using the invited email, then pick the workspace. - **Log out:** **Account Settings** → **Account** → **Logout**. If other logins are saved in this browser, you switch to the next one instead. ## What you can't do - Use Google or Apple login on the website. - Turn on two-factor login. - Change your login email from the web app. ## If it doesn't work - **"Account Not exists"**: no InstantDM account uses that email. Try **Continue With Instagram**, or the email you verified during setup. - **"OTP is Invalid"**: check the code and type it again. - **"OTP Expired"**: codes last 5 minutes. Click **Resend OTP** (after 60 seconds) and use the newest code. - **No email arrived**: check your spam folder ("📧 Can't find the email? Check your spam folder"). Make sure it's the email saved on your account. - **Logged in, but InstantDM asks you to connect Instagram**: your login has no Instagram yet. Log in with Continue With Instagram, or with an email code. To create a password, use Forgot password? on the login page. **How long is the login code valid?** The 6-digit code expires after 5 minutes. You can ask for a new one after 60 seconds. **Can I log in with Google or Apple on the website?** No. Google and Apple sign-in are only in the phone app. On the website, use Instagram or your email. **How do I change my login email?** There is no option to change it on the web. Your login email is shown, read-only, in Account Settings > Account.
