The WhatsApp automation market is crowded, and the products aren't interchangeable. Some are broadcast engines. Some are shared inboxes. Some are AI agents wearing a chatbot badge. And all of them sit on top of Meta's own per-message fees, which no sticker price includes. The top 5 WhatsApp automation tools for 2026 are WATI (from $59/month billed annually, the strongest all-round default), AiSensy (from ₹1,500/month, the budget pick with a free entry plan), Interakt (the cheapest entry: Starter is ₹3,499/quarter in India, Growth $55/month globally), SleekFlow (from $119/month, the omnichannel pick), and Gallabox (from $89/month, the AI-agent pick). All prices are July 2026, from each vendor's public pricing page.
- WATI — best overall for small and mid-sized businesses: broadcasts, flows, shared inbox, biggest verified review base
- AiSensy — best on a budget: lowest paid entry, prepaid per-message credits, official BSP wording on-site
- Interakt — best India value: cheapest entry plan in this comparison, WhatsApp + Instagram bundled on Growth
- SleekFlow — best omnichannel: WhatsApp plus Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, and more in one inbox
- Gallabox — best AI-agent focus: AI credits model, voice agents on the top tier
A note on where this is coming from: this is InstantDM's blog. InstantDM is an Instagram DM automation tool and does not offer WhatsApp automation, so unlike our Instagram comparisons, we have no product in this ranking. That makes this one unusually easy to write honestly. Every price and claim below links to its source.
Who this comparison is for
- Small and mid-sized businesses moving off the free WhatsApp Business app onto the API, usually because they've outgrown one phone, one agent, or manual replies.
- D2C and e-commerce brands running broadcast campaigns, abandoned-cart recovery, and catalog commerce inside WhatsApp.
- Teams choosing between India-first and global vendors. Half this market prices in INR first, and the regional price books differ more than you'd expect.
How we evaluated the tools
- Real cost, both bills. Subscription price plus the metering model (seats, message credits, active contacts, AI credits), plus how each vendor handles Meta's per-message fees.
- Automation depth. Broadcasts, chatbot and flow builders, AI agents, and the shared team inbox that keeps replies human.
- Meta relationship, as stated by the vendor itself. We quote each company's own wording (BSP, partner, or no claim at all) rather than repeating directory listings.
- Third-party reputation. G2 and Trustpilot ratings with counts, retrieved July 2026. G2 blocks automated checks, so those figures come from G2 listing snapshots; treat them as indicative.
- Channel fit. WhatsApp-only vs multi-channel, because plenty of buyers in this market actually need Instagram or web chat too.
Pricing and plan limits below are as of July 2026, from each vendor's public pricing page. Vendors change plans without notice. Check current pricing before deciding.

The real bill: Meta's per-message fees come on top
This is the part most "top tools" lists skip, and it changes the math more than any subscription price. Since July 1, 2025, Meta charges WhatsApp Business Platform usage per delivered template message (it previously billed per conversation), with rates that vary by country and by message category (Meta's WhatsApp pricing documentation). The rules that matter for budgeting:
- Marketing templates are always charged on delivery. Bulk promotional broadcasts are where the fees pile up.
- Utility and authentication templates are free inside an open 24-hour customer-service window, charged outside it.
- Service conversations have been free since November 2024. Replying to customers who message you costs nothing in Meta fees.
- Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a 72-hour free window: if a user arrives via a CTWA ad or Facebook Page button and you reply within 24 hours, all messages in the next 72 hours are free, templates included.
Every tool in this guide passes these fees through. WATI publishes a per-country rate card. Gallabox lists "usage charges, billed separately." DoubleTick states "WhatsApp charges additional charges per conversation." AiSensy and Interakt sell prepaid message credits, and Interakt's per-message rates vary by plan tier, which is effectively a markup (its Enterprise plan advertises "No Markup Charges"). When you compare tools, compare their per-message rates for your country too, not just the subscription.
1. WATI — best all-round WhatsApp automation tool for SMBs

Best for: teams that want the full stack (broadcasts, flow automation, shared inbox, integrations) from one mature vendor.
WATI is the most widely reviewed tool in this comparison (G2 4.6 from 485 reviews, July 2026) and reads like the category's reference product: broadcasts with per-country Meta rate cards, automation flows, an AI Co-pilot with monthly credits, a shared inbox that also connects website chat, Instagram, Facebook, and SMS, WhatsApp Business Calling, and an integrations directory of 100+ apps. Its about page describes the company as a "Premium Partner of Meta and Google," and its investors include Sequoia, Tiger Global, and Shopify. That last relationship shows in the product, where the Shopify integration is a $4.99/month add-on.
Pricing (wati.io/pricing, July 2026):
- Growth: $59/month billed annually ($69 monthly). 3 users, 1 channel, 1,000 automation triggers/month, broadcasts capped at 15,000/month.
- Pro: $119/month billed annually ($149 monthly). 5 users, unlimited broadcasts, more triggers and AI credits.
- Business: $279/month billed annually ($349 monthly). 5 users, highest limits, "Blitz" high-throughput sending.
- 7-day free trial; no free plan. India also gets a ₹999 one-time pay-as-you-go starter credited back as message credits.
- Strengths: most complete feature set per dollar in the mid-market; biggest verified review base; multi-channel inbox; transparent per-country Meta rate card.
- Limits: no free plan; Growth's 3-user plan can't add seats, so a growing team has to jump a full tier; several limits (triggers, API calls, AI credits) are metered per plan; Trustpilot sits at 3.4 ("Average", July 2026), well below its G2 score.
Choose WATI if: you want one safe default and expect to still be using it in two years. Skip it if: you need a free plan, or basic broadcasts are your whole use case. AiSensy does that for less.
2. AiSensy — best budget pick for broadcast-first businesses

Best for: small businesses whose main job is campaigns (broadcasts, Click-to-WhatsApp ads, payment collection) at the lowest entry cost.
AiSensy claims the biggest customer base in this comparison ("210,000+ businesses across 68+ countries," aisensy.com, July 2026) and states its Meta relationship plainly: "an Official WhatsApp Business Solution Partner (BSP)." What sets its pricing apart is the prepaid model. You pay a low subscription plus per-message conversation credits (India rates: ₹1.09 per marketing message, ₹0.145 utility/authentication, service free), so quiet months cost little. Plans include 1 owner + 5 agent seats free, with extra agents at ₹750/month. There's also a "FREE forever plan" for API access. Its exact limits aren't published on the pricing page, so verify it before you rely on it.
Pricing (aisensy.com pricing help-center article, July 2026): Basic ₹1,500/month + GST (₹1,350 yearly) · Pro ₹3,200/month + GST (₹2,880 yearly) · Enterprise on request. Chatbot builder is a paid add-on (₹2,500/month for 5 bots), as is the AI agent builder (₹3,500/month incl. 3,500 AI messages).
- Strengths: lowest paid entry in the comparison; prepaid metering matches spiky campaign usage; unlimited contacts ("charged only for conversations you initiate"); explicit BSP wording; WhatsApp Pay/Razorpay/PayU payment collection.
- Limits: WhatsApp-only (Facebook and Instagram appear only as ad sources); chatbots and AI are paid add-ons that can double the bill; India-first pricing in INR; G2 4.3 from 104 reviews and Trustpilot 4.0 from 49 reviews (July 2026), a smaller review base than WATI's.
Choose AiSensy if: broadcasts and CTWA campaigns are the job and budget is the constraint. Skip it if: you need bundled chatbots, AI, or any channel beyond WhatsApp.
3. Interakt — best India-value pick with both channels

Best for: businesses that want the cheapest entry to the official API, with Instagram bundled in as they grow.
Interakt (built by Jio Haptik, per its own footer) has the lowest entry price in this comparison. The Starter tier is ₹3,499 per quarter + taxes (roughly ₹1,166 a month) with your choice of one channel, WhatsApp or Instagram, unlimited contacts, and unlimited agents in owner roles. Paid tiers above it add both channels, the no-code chatbot builder, broadcasts "to 1000s in a single click," catalog sync from Shopify/WooCommerce with payments, and 60+ integrations. It states "Meta Business Partners" status and runs on the official WhatsApp Business API.
Pricing (interakt.shop/pricing, July 2026 — geo-served; quarterly view shown in our screenshot): India: Starter ₹3,499/quarter, Growth ₹7,699/quarter (₹2,239/month on yearly billing), Advanced ₹10,499/quarter, + taxes. Global: Growth $55/month, Advanced $69/month. Enterprise on request with "Unlimited Messages" and "No Markup Charges." 14-day free trial, no card. Per-message India rates: marketing ₹0.949–0.970, utility ₹0.140–0.160. Note the ranges: rates vary by plan tier, which is a markup you should factor in.
- Strengths: cheapest entry plan in the comparison; WhatsApp + Instagram bundled on Growth and above; Shopify/WooCommerce catalog commerce; unlimited agents; Jio-scale parent.
- Limits: Starter is single-channel and billed quarterly, not monthly; per-message markup below Enterprise; and the reputation split is stark: G2 about 4.5 (≈64 reviews) against Trustpilot 1.9 ("Poor", July 2026), with complaints about support responsiveness and refunds. Check both before committing.
Choose Interakt if: you want the lowest-cost on-ramp to the official API. Skip it if: premium support matters more than price. Read its Trustpilot page first.
4. SleekFlow — best omnichannel platform

Best for: teams for whom WhatsApp is the biggest of several channels, and who want AI agents working across all of them.
SleekFlow is the omnichannel outlier: WhatsApp plus Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, LINE, Viber, WeChat, SMS, email, and VoIP in one inbox (3 channels on Pro, 10 on Premium). It calls itself "an official WhatsApp Business Solution Provider" on its homepage, and its 2026 packaging is AI-first, with AgentFlow AI agents (knowledge bases, lead scoring, Shopify actions) plus an inbox co-pilot. Metering is by Monthly Active Contacts. A contact who receives a broadcast without replying doesn't count, which is friendlier to broadcast-heavy use than it sounds.
Pricing (sleekflow.io/pricing, July 2026): Pro AI $149/month ($119/month billed yearly) with 500 MACs and 3 users · Premium AI $349/month ($299 yearly) with 1,000 MACs · Enterprise custom. 7-day trial on Pro; no free plan. We saw regional price variants during checks, so confirm the figures for your region on their pricing page. WhatsApp/SMS hosting and per-message fees are billed separately.
- Strengths: true omnichannel with the widest channel list here; strongest bundled AI-agent story alongside Gallabox; G2 4.6 (~200 reviews) and Trustpilot 4.0 (37 reviews, July 2026); Salesforce/HubSpot-grade integrations.
- Limits: priciest entry point in this guide; MAC metering needs monitoring as your audience grows; a $499 onboarding program is pitched alongside the plans.
Choose SleekFlow if: consolidating five channels into one AI-assisted inbox is the actual project. Skip it if: you're WhatsApp-only. You'd be paying omnichannel prices for one channel.
5. Gallabox — best AI-agent focus

Best for: sales-led teams that want AI agents qualifying WhatsApp (and Instagram) conversations, with humans closing.
Gallabox has rebuilt itself around AI agents. Every plan meters AI credits (Basic 500/month, Essential 2,000, Advanced 8,000) that its agents consume answering, translating, and rewriting, and the Advanced tier adds AI voice/phone agents. Around that sits the standard stack: broadcasts and drip campaigns (contact caps by tier), no-code flows, shared inbox with co-pilot, catalog and payments, appointment booking, and API access on all plans. Channels include WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and comments, and web chat.
Pricing (gallabox.com/pricing, July 2026): Basic ₹2,399/month or $89/month billed annually (₹2,999/$120 quarterly) with a 3-user hard cap · Essential ₹5,599/$197 with 6 users · Advanced ₹13,599/$377 with 10 users · Enterprise custom. Separate INR/USD/AED price books. 7-day trial with 500 AI credits; no free plan; WhatsApp conversation fees "billed separately."
- Strengths: clearest AI-agent metering in the category, so you can see exactly what AI usage costs; Instagram comments + DMs included; G2 4.6 from 169 reviews (July 2026); appointment booking and pipeline features built in.
- Limits: Basic's 3-user hard cap; AI credits are one more meter to watch on top of Meta fees; no Meta partner claim on its own site as of July 2026, so ask them directly about BSP status before you sign; effectively no Trustpilot footprint (1 review).
Choose Gallabox if: "AI answers first, humans close" is your model. Skip it if: you want simple broadcast automation without an AI-credit meter to manage.
Also considered: DoubleTick
DoubleTick (doubletick.io) is a WhatsApp-only team inbox with bulk broadcasts and a chatbot studio, advertising unlimited messages and contacts with Meta fees billed separately. It's demo-led (no published trial terms) and India-priced from ₹3,000/month + GST for 5 agents. Its global price book, though, is $169.90/month for the same plan, one of the widest regional gaps we found. The homepage displays a Meta "Emerging Technology Partner of the Year" award. The reputation data is polarized: G2 4.8 (~70 reviews) against Trustpilot 2.1 ("Poor") as of July 2026. Worth a demo for WhatsApp-only Indian sales teams. That review split is why it sits outside our top five.
Why WATI ranks first
Stated criteria, honestly applied:
- Evidence: the largest verified review base in the comparison (G2 4.6 from 485 reviews), an order of magnitude more than Interakt or DoubleTick, and consistent over time.
- Completeness without add-on math: broadcasts, flows, inbox, AI credits, and integrations are all in the plans. AiSensy's equivalent stack requires chatbot and AI add-ons that can exceed its base price.
- Transparent pass-through: a published per-country Meta rate card rather than plan-dependent markup.
- Concessions: WATI has no free plan (only AiSensy advertises one), isn't the cheapest (Interakt's Starter and AiSensy's Basic both undercut it), has fewer channels than SleekFlow, and its Trustpilot (3.4) trails its G2 score. If any of those is your deciding criterion, the ranking above tells you where to go instead.
Where the other tools fit best
- AiSensy — the campaign machine: cheapest way to run compliant broadcasts and CTWA funnels at small-business scale.
- Interakt — the low-cost on-ramp: cheapest entry to the official API, upgrade when volume demands it.
- SleekFlow — the consolidator: one AI inbox across ten channels for teams drowning in tabs.
- Gallabox — the AI-first bet: agents that work conversations, with usage you can meter.
How to choose the right WhatsApp automation tool
- Price your real month, not the sticker. Take last month's actual message volume, split it into marketing/utility/service, and compute Meta fees per each tool's rate card. Then add the subscription. The ranking often flips at this step.
- Match the meter to your usage shape. Spiky campaign months point to prepaid credits (AiSensy). A steady support load fits seat pricing (WATI). A big list you message rarely fits Monthly Active Contacts (SleekFlow). AI-heavy workflows fit AI credits (Gallabox).
- Check the vendor's Meta wording on their own site. BSP, partner, or silence. Get anything ambiguous in writing.
- Read both review platforms. Three tools in this guide show a 2+ point gap between G2 and Trustpilot, and the truth usually lives in the complaints' themes: support, refunds, billing.
- Run the trial with a real campaign. Every vendor here offers a trial or free tier. An afternoon of testing beats a quarter of regret.
What businesses often get wrong
- Budgeting the subscription and forgetting Meta's fees. A 50,000-recipient marketing broadcast carries Meta charges on every delivered template, on every tool.
- Broadcasting to unengaged lists. WhatsApp requires user opt-in for business messaging, and Meta's quality rating system throttles senders whose messages get blocked or reported (Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform docs). Opt-in hygiene is what keeps your number alive. "Grow the list" and "blast the list" are different disciplines.
- Ignoring regional price books. The same plan can differ several-fold between INR and USD books. Check both if you can bill from either entity.
- Buying channels you don't run. Omnichannel pricing is only a deal if the other channels are real workloads. Otherwise you're subsidizing an inbox you never open.
What matters most in 2026
Two changes define this buying cycle. First, Meta's July 2025 switch to per-message pricing rewired campaign economics. Service conversations are free, replies inside the 24-hour window are free, and Click-to-WhatsApp ads open 72-hour free windows, so tools and strategies that pull people into conversations (rather than blasting templates at them) now carry structurally lower Meta bills. Second, AI agents went from demo to line item. Gallabox meters them in credits, SleekFlow packages "unlimited AI" tiers, WATI ships a co-pilot, AiSensy sells agents as an add-on. The practical question stopped being "does it have AI?" and became "what does AI usage cost at my volume?"
What if your channel is Instagram, not WhatsApp?
Four of these five tools bolt Instagram on as a secondary channel, and it shows. The Instagram-specific triggers (comment-to-DM funnels, story reply automation, collab-post handling) are where WhatsApp-first platforms run thinnest. If Instagram is your primary channel, compare purpose-built tools instead: our best Instagram DM automation tools for creators guide covers that field (including our own tool, InstantDM: flat $9.99/month, official Meta Business Partner), and the agency comparison covers multi-client setups.
The verdict
Default to WATI if you want the safest all-round choice with the deepest track record. Take AiSensy when budget rules and broadcasts are the job, Interakt for the cheapest entry to the official API, SleekFlow when WhatsApp is one of many channels, and Gallabox when AI agents are the strategy. Whatever you shortlist, price your real message volume against Meta's per-message rates first. That's the number the sticker price hides.
