💡 Best practice: Use the mobile app for monitoring, quick edits, toggling automations on/off, and checking analytics on the go. Use desktop for building complex flows in the visual Flow Editor.
Push Notifications
The native apps support push notifications for key automation events:
- Automation failures or errors
- Rate limit warnings
- New leads captured through flows
- Team invitations and collaboration updates
Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings for the InstantDM app to stay on top of your automations.
PWA Option (Web App on Home Screen)
If you prefer not to download from the app store, InstantDM also works as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Adding it to your home screen gives you a native-like experience — full-screen mode, no browser chrome, and fast loading.
| Platform | How to Add PWA |
|---|---|
| iOS | Open Safari → go to app.instantdm.com → tap Share (square with arrow) → Add to Home Screen → tap Add. |
| Android | Open Chrome → go to app.instantdm.com → tap the three-dot menu → Add to Home Screen → tap Add. |
Native App vs. PWA
| Feature | Native App (iOS/Android) | PWA (Web App) |
|---|---|---|
| Push notifications | ✅ Full native support | ⚠️ Browser-level (limited on iOS) |
| Performance | ✅ Optimized for device | ✅ Good |
| Auto-updates | ✅ Via app store | ✅ Automatic |
| Offline access | ✅ Cached data available | ⚠️ Limited |
| Installation | App Store / Google Play | Add to Home Screen from browser |
💡 Recommendation: The native apps are the best mobile experience. Use the PWA as a fallback if you can't install apps on your device.
Workspace Switching on Mobile
If you're on a Multi plan with multiple Instagram accounts, you can switch between workspaces directly in the mobile app. Tap the workspace picker in the navigation to see all your connected accounts and switch between them. The dashboard, automations, and analytics update instantly.
