Automation Library (Save & Reuse Configs)
Set up your automation once, save it, and apply it to any post with a single click. The Automation Library keeps your settings consistent and saves you time.
What Is the Automation Library?
The Automation Library is a feature that lets you save a complete post automation configuration as a reusable template. Instead of manually configuring trigger words, DM replies, comment replies, and other settings every time you create a new post, you save the configuration once and load it onto future posts instantly.
Think of it like a preset. You build the perfect automation setup, save it with a descriptive name, and pull it up whenever you need it. Every setting — trigger words, message content, follow gates, auto-hide preferences — gets saved and restored exactly as you configured it.
Why Use the Automation Library?
If you post frequently and use similar automation across your content, the library saves significant time and ensures consistency. Here's why it matters:
- Speed — Apply a full automation config in seconds instead of setting up each option manually.
- Consistency — Every post gets the same automation treatment. No missed settings or forgotten configurations.
- Fewer mistakes — When you're configuring automation manually for the tenth time, it's easy to miss a setting. Templates eliminate that risk.
- Team alignment — If multiple people manage your account, everyone uses the same proven configurations.
Saving a Configuration to the Library
- Navigate to Instagram DM in the left sidebar.
- Select a post and configure your automation settings — trigger words, DM reply, comment reply, follow gate, auto-hide, and any other options.
- Once everything is set up the way you want, click Save to Library.
- Give the configuration a descriptive name (e.g., "Lead Magnet - Free Guide", "Product Launch - Discount Code", "Webinar Registration").
- Click Save.
The entire configuration is now stored in your library and ready to be loaded onto any future post.
What Gets Saved
When you save a configuration to the library, everything is included:
| Setting | Saved? |
|---|---|
| Trigger words | ✅ Yes |
| DM reply content (text, buttons, images, audio) | ✅ Yes |
| Comment reply texts | ✅ Yes |
| Follow gate settings | ✅ Yes |
| Auto-hide / auto-delete preferences | ✅ Yes |
| Fallback comment reply | ✅ Yes |
| Flow Editor connections | ✅ Yes |
Loading a Saved Config onto a New Post
- Navigate to Instagram DM and select the new post you want to automate.
- Click Load from Library.
- Browse your saved configurations or search by name.
- Click on the configuration you want to apply.
- All settings are loaded onto the post instantly.
- Review the settings and make any post-specific adjustments.
- Toggle the automation ON and save.
💡 Tip: Loading a saved config replaces the current settings on the post. If you've already configured something on the post, save it first or it will be overwritten.
Editing Library Entries
Your automation strategy evolves over time, and your library should evolve with it. To edit a saved configuration:
- Open the Automation Library.
- Select the configuration you want to update.
- Modify any settings — change trigger words, update the DM message, adjust the follow gate.
- Click Save to update the library entry.
Posts that already loaded the old version are not affected. Only future loads will use the updated configuration. This means you can safely update templates without worrying about changing live automations.
Deleting Library Entries
To remove a configuration you no longer need:
- Open the Automation Library.
- Find the configuration you want to delete.
- Click the Delete button.
- Confirm the deletion.
Deleting a library entry does not affect any posts that already loaded that configuration. The automation on those posts continues to work as configured.
Use Cases
Consistent Automation Across Posts
If you run a recurring content series (e.g., weekly tips, daily quotes, product spotlights), create a library entry for each series. Every new post in the series gets the same automation with one click.
Agency Templates
Agencies managing multiple clients can create standardized automation templates. When onboarding a new client or setting up a new campaign, load the appropriate template instead of building from scratch. This ensures quality and consistency across all client accounts.
Campaign-Specific Configs
Running a product launch? Create a library entry with the launch-specific trigger words, discount code DM, and comment replies. Apply it to every post in the campaign. When the campaign ends, the template stays in your library for the next launch.
A/B Testing
Save two variations of your automation config (different DM messages, different trigger words) and apply them to different posts. Compare performance in your analytics to see which version converts better, then standardize on the winner.

Tips and Best Practices
- Name your configs descriptively. Use names that tell you exactly what the automation does — "Free Guide - Comment LINK" is better than "Config 1".
- Create configs for each content type. Have separate templates for lead magnets, product launches, engagement posts, and educational content.
- Review and update regularly. As you learn what works best, update your library entries to reflect your latest strategy.
- Always review after loading. Even when using a template, take a moment to review the settings and make any post-specific adjustments before going live.
- Clean up old entries. Delete configurations you no longer use to keep your library organized and easy to navigate.
