There is no delete button on the website. In the InstantDM phone app, go to Settings, Privacy, Delete Account to send a deletion request, or email hey@instantdm.com from your login email. Cancel your subscription first: deleting does not cancel it. To stop all automations right away, disconnect Instagram on the web.
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting the app or your InstantDM account does not cancel it. See How do I cancel my subscription?
The website has no delete button. You can ask for deletion in the phone app or by email.
Deleting is meant to be permanent. Download anything you want to keep first, for example your contacts and invoices, from the web app.
Steps
In the phone app:
Tap your profile photo at the top right, then Settings.
Tap Privacy (“Manage your data and account”).
Tap Delete Account.
Read the list of what the request covers, then tap Continue.
On “Final Confirmation”, tap Yes, Delete.
You are logged out. Your deletion request is sent to InstantDM.
By email (any device):
Write to hey@instantdm.com from the email you use to log in to InstantDM.
Ask to delete your InstantDM account. Include your Instagram @username.
Stop everything right away (web)
A deletion request may take time to process. To stop all automations now:
Click Account Settings in the sidebar and open Safety & Limits.
On the Instagram Account card, click Disconnect and confirm.
The message reads: “Both Instagram and Facebook will be disconnected. All automations will stop. You can reconnect anytime.”
Good to know
Logging out is not deleting. Account Settings → Account → Logout only signs you out.
Deleting a client account (sub-account) is different from deleting your whole InstantDM login. You do it from Switch Account on the web. It’s permanent and stops that account’s automations.
If you own a team workspace, you can delete the workspace in Team settings → Settings → Delete Workspace. All members lose access.
What you can’t do
Delete your InstantDM account from the website.
Delete your main account from the account switcher.
Cancel a store subscription by deleting the account.
If it doesn’t work
You can’t find Privacy in the app: if Settings doesn’t open, close and reopen the app, then try again.
You don’t use the app: email hey@instantdm.com from your login email.
You were still charged after deleting: the subscription wasn’t cancelled. Cancel it where you paid, then email hey@instantdm.com.
Questions people also ask
Does deleting my InstantDM account cancel my subscription?
No. Cancel it first: in My Plan on the website if you paid there, or in the App Store or Google Play if you paid in the app.
Does this delete my Instagram account?
No. Only your InstantDM account and its data are covered. Your Instagram account, posts and messages stay as they are.
I changed my mind after asking for deletion. What do I do?
Email hey@instantdm.com as soon as possible and say you want to keep your account.
How do I delete just one client account?
On the web, open Switch Account and click the bin icon on that client account. This permanently removes it and stops its automations. Your main account stays.
